Saya was born and raised in Tokyo in a family of musicians. Naturally she was drawn to rock 'n' roll, art, fashion, beauty and all cool or nerdy things. Saya started out in a Tokyo hair salon, and then went on to do freelance hair and make-up. She's studied hair, make-up, and graphic and web design. She loves to design and create.
In New York, Saya assisted at Garren, then left to focus on freelance hair styling. Her work has appeared in fashion magazines around the world. Her hair clients include musicians such as Ben and Matthew from MGMT, Twin shadow, Grizzly Bear, Lage Lund, Breedlove, dj Lady Starlight, and broadway stars such as Annaleigh Ashford. |
